Finally after Citabria united their current members back in 2008, they decided to lock themselves away from the world to write a full length album with no musical boundaries. In mid 2008, they started recording "The Stereo Guillotine" themselves using any recording gear they could get their hands on. When nearly done recording 11 instrumental tracks in June of 2009, they were offered to record at a private studio in San Carlos, Ca, where Leopoldo Larsen was currently assisting a producer . They were fortunate enough to squeeze in some time after hours to record the album. They knew it wasn't going to be fun re-recording all their songs again but knew in the long run it was worth the wait. So, they began recording the album for the second time. Finally when done recording around January of 2010, they realized they needed someone to mix the album. Several famous producers were exposed to some rough tracks and caught the ears of some of today's top industry professionals like legendary Producer/Mixing Engineer Dave Schiffman (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, System Of A Down, The Mars Volta, and Johnny Cash) who completed mixing their debut EP in June of 2010 and Mastering Engineer Howie Weinberg (Deftones, Circa Survive, Beastie Boys, Limp Bizkit, Nirvana and Muse). Citabria was only able to get half their album mixed by Dave Shiffman and the rest of the album remains unheard. You can catch some of their lost tracks when seeing them live and that is an even greater experience!!
